About Soul Creative Art Studio
Art Instruction
Soul Creative Art Studio teaches the fundamental steps of making art through easy-to-follow instructions. Art terms and techniques are discussed in each lesson, followed by an examination of the art process. The Elements of Art and the Principles of Design are significant aspects of each lesson. The art projects reinforce the skills taught through various artistic styles and methods.
Not only can you learn how to create your masterpiece, but you can also teach others how to tell their visual story through artmaking.
The Mission
The mission of Soul Creative Art Studio is to emphasize the connection between history, culture, and the ever-changing world in which we live. The use of traditional and non-traditional art techniques and materials is encouraged in an effort to refresh the environment, open minds, and feed the soul. Motivating creativity builds self-confidence and allows the space to find strength in the "not-so" perfect.
About the artist
Artist/Educator
My name is Willette. I am an artist, explorer, and educator. I am excited about sharing my gift of creating and teaching art. As a child, I always knew I would be an artist, and I took every opportunity to draw, paint, build, and get messy!
I earned my Master of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University and began my art instruction and freelance artist career in Florida. I enjoy learning new techniques and methods to develop my art and teaching others how to express themselves through the visual arts.
My Art
Visual art is my voice, and it speaks through my paintings and drawings that focus mainly on the family unit and relationships. I strive to show the connections between individuals, families, and our environment. My work draws the viewer in through emotional, engaging, and sometimes confrontational gazes. The colors I use reflect various skin tones and the beauty of people of color.
